Laser printers are highly popular nowadays. Most people tend to own these and as a result a lot of toner cartridges get used throughout the UK. Unfortunately, this means that a lot of them also get thrown away too. Many people don’t realise the fact that there are a lot of things you can do before you actually dispose of your toner cartridge. Discover why next time you should think twice before you decide to through your cartridges in the trash.

Get your cartridges refilled

A lot of people complain about the fact that ink cartridges tend to be expensive. Whilst this is typically the case, a lot of these individuals are failing to take advantage of the fact that they can have their toner cartridges replaced rather than merely buying a new one every single time a replacement is necessary. Unfortunately, you cannot have your cartridges refilled indefinitely. You will only be able to do this a few times. Nonetheless, this will certainly save you a substantial chunk of money in comparison to if you were going to chuck your cartridge in the bin every time it ran out of ink.

Recycle them

By chucking your cartridges in the bin, all you are doing is adding to landfill pollution. The troubles associated with rising pollution have been well-documented. Thus, if you don’t refill your cartridges or take advantage of the upcoming advice, then at least make sure you recycle them rather than throwing them in the bin. There are lots of places whereby you can recycle toner cartridges and thus there is no excuse not to.

Sell them

There are actually several companies that will buy your cartridges off you. Let’s get this straight; you are not going to make millions by doing this. Nevertheless, it offers a great way of getting rid of your empty cartridges whilst ensuring you get a little bit to keep you happy in return. By doing this you are also making sure that you are essentially recycling too because you know that your cartridges will not be getting dumped on a landfill site - they will be getting reused instead.

Get creative

If none of the three options mentioned appeal to you then perhaps you would prefer to get in touch with your creative side. You can create several quirky and cool accessories via the use of toner cartridges. For instance, you can use them as a way of developing cute and fun paperweights. All you need to do is paint the ink cartridge in order to give it an exciting appearance. In fact, the creative possibilities are endless. You can use ink cartridges to create anything from fridge magnets to Christmas decorations. If you are someone with a taste for the arts, then add your ink cartridges to your tools and save them for a great project.

Next time you go to dispose a toner cartridge in the bin, think twice before doing so. After all, why not recycle or sell it instead? You could even refill your cartridges and use them again. Or if none of these are feasible then let your creative and artist flair out.
