3 Design Errors that Lead to Visitors Abandoning an Attorney Website - Image 1

A firm might have the best attorneys and track record of successfully handling the most challenging cases, but the firm’s website might still not be attracting the attention it deserves. The website won’t be doing enough towards increasing the firm’s clientele? There is a good chance that visitors are accessing the website, but closing it in quick time and going to some other site.

In such cases, there is a good chance that it has made one of these three errors:

1. The Images Do Not Resonate with the Visitors

Have you used the right kind of images on your site? Many a times, attorney web design suffers because designers don’t give importance to kind of images used in the design. Irrelevant images are used, many of them which don’t make much sense. They have been used for the heck of it and not because they serve some purpose. Images on a law firm website should resonate with the visitors in order to create the right impression on their minds. For e.g. A person (who looks like a lawyer) in deep conversation with some people (clients) is one of the images that have a better chance of impressing visitors and converting them into paying clients.

2. Unstructured Content

The content on a law firm’s website is an important part of its design. In fact, it’s content rather than the visuals that convinces the visitors to get in touch with your law firm as they believe it suits their needs and requirements. So, if your content comes across as unstructured and difficult to understand, say goodbye to any chances of your website making an impression on the website’s visitors. What they are looking for is well written content with a logical flow and which can be read and understood easily. If you can’t give such content to them, the site will experience increased rate of abandonment.

3. Design Distractions

Many designers tend to go overboard as far as the use of design elements are concerned when it comes to attorney web design. But that’s the wrong way of going about it; needless use of design elements might lead to distractions that will interfere with the overall experience of using the website. What this might also do is distract the visitors from the website’s message. This will confuse them and at times even frustrate them leading to website abandonment.

End Words

As a designer, you must make sure that you remain true to the objective of the attorney website. You need to ensure that the message of the website is brought out clearly to the website visitors through your designs. The mark of any good website that promotes or offers information about professional services is its simplicity. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that visitors come to such to go through their designs. All such visitors are looking for is information and they want the design of the website to help them access this information quickly and conveniently. That’s it, nothing more! If you focus on this particular aspect, you will make very little mistakes.
