Did you know that email advertising is a great way to get new readers, subscribers or customers? There are several reasons for why email advertising is so effective, and is a growing market. The email marketing company LiveIntent has found that the engagement rates for ads in emails is between 5 to 15 times more than the rates for more traditional forms of internet advertising.
So what do you need to know about how to market your advertising in emails? Here are some suggestions:
- Make sure that the emails you advertise in are legitimate, and only sign up readers via the readers asking to belong. Unfortunately, there are still some times these days in which email newsletters spam readers, or sign up people without their permission. So this is one of the reasons it may be helpful to go to an email platform company to run the ad - reputable companies will make sure that the email newsletters are truly engage in permission marketing. Preferably, you want email publishers to use a double opt-in system, which means that the reader has to request a subscription, and then verify an email they receive to make sure it is really them.
- Get your ad targeted to the correct audience. You don’t want to have your ad show up in emails and newsletters that have nothing to do with the interests of the readers. For example, if you are selling knitting products like needles and yarn, the chances of finding good customers by running your ads in a cycling email newsletter are not that great. Instead, you would want to have your ads run in an arts and crafts email newsletter or something similar.
- Other advertising ideas include having coupon codes in which the person who sees the ad gets a discount on your products or services. You could also have ads announcing upcoming sales at your website or place of business.
- Whatever you do, make sure that you have a specially designed landing page that will work well for the ad, and that will get your potential customer to do what you want them to do. You do not want to simply direct them to your website. You want to easily connect them with the product or service. For example, if your email advertising ideas involve Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, have the link in the ad go to a way where the customer can easily buy the product.
