There are lots of email applications which support MBOX file format as their mailboxes. Mozilla Thunderbird, Mac Mail, PocoMail, Eudora, Spicebird are few of them, which support to save all mails in MBOX mailbox format. You can easily find an MBOX file from the default location of email client. MBOX supported applications and Zimbra are completely different from each other. Zimbra only support .tgz file format. So basically there is no direct way available to Import MBOX files in Zimbra. First know where you can find the MBOX file of different email applications.

  • Where is Thunderbird MBOX files located - C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\
  • Where are MBOX files stored on MAC - Hold on the option key while using Finder Go To Folder command. Enter ~/Library/Mail/V2.
  • Where does Eudora store mails/mailbox - "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data", where <username> is the User’s login name)."

After collecting MBOX/MBX files, use MBOX to Zimbra conversion tool that helps you to migrate MBOX files to Zimbra TGZ file format. Using this tool you can convert Squirrelmail data to Zimbra.

Software support MBOX/MBX and without extension files. You can easily migrate MBOX files from Mozilla Thunderbird, Eudora, Mac Mail, Squirrelmail to Zimbra. Software converts multiple MBOX files in .tgz file format so that you can easily import converted TGZ file into any Zimbra Desktop version.

MBOX to Zimbra Converter create single TGZ file for all MBOX files but maintain folder structure. Software also maintain all the file formatting and converts all the attached files along with its respective files but keep attachments into their original format.
