3. Look for a Reliable Customer Support

Your number one red flag for a dodgy monitoring app should be a ghost customer support. If the company is truly full and functional, it should have an active communication portal with its customers. This will tell you that people are using this app and that the app makers are involved and active in getting consumer response. Fake apps will have websites with a dummy customer support just for show that won’t actually work once you want to refer to it to troubleshoot real problems.

Other times, websites have bots to be their Customer Support. It is normal for agents to use automated responses in cases where the question is very frequently asked. This should not sway you. However, when you ask them something different (advice or help) and they are unable to generate a response, that’s when you know they are bots.
