The Evolution Of Mobile Application Development - Image 1

There is no doubt that most people love mobile applications. These apps are convenient and easy to use, easy to access (one-click access) and provide important notifications automatically. Today, millions of people use mobile apps, but only a small number of them know how it all started.

The fact is that experts have disagreements when it comes to determining the exact date when mobile apps appeared. Technically, it was Blackberry that presented mobile apps for the first time. They offered an email client to Blackberry smartphone users. 14 years ago. However, most experts agree that the history of these apps started with iPhone app development in 2008.

Apple is one of the most successful tech companies today. One of the reasons for this success is the fact that they are a mobile app development company too. Of course, the apps found on the popular App Store are produced by other companies too because Apple allows third party developers to share their apps.

So, after the release of the first iPhone, a device that came with some pre-installed apps, the officials from iPhone decided to introduce the App Store in 2008. What is even more interesting is that the history of Android app development started the same year, just a few months later. This was the moment when Google introduced the Android Market which is now known as Google Play Store. The first smartphone on Android platform was HTC dream by HTC.

What is interesting is that the number of downloads of mobile apps on App Store reached one billion after one year. This was definitely a good time to found a mobile app development company. A few months later Android mobile app development market reached another milestone – one billion downloads. This was also the period when different manufacturers presented their first tablets like Apple iPad and Galaxy by Samsung.

It is interesting to mention that there are few other famous companies that have invested in mobile app development and one of them are Windows. Their pioneer steps were made in 1996 and even though Windows was ahead of its competition, the classic mobile apps that we know were introduced later than iOS and Android apps. Windows mobile app development continues to be one of the most important activities for this industry.

Of course, during this period the applications themselves were changing, improving and evolving. For instance, in the past many mobile apps have used a so-called icon system or textual display to present their features. On the other hand, modern apps are featuring HD photos, videos, and great mobility. In addition, swiping has replaced scrolling in many apps making user experience smoother than ever. The latest apps are focused on touch controls because this makes their use much simpler and easier.

According to many experts, mobile app development has a bright future because the number of app users is expected to grow. At the same time, many of the mobile app development companies are making changes in their apps that will make them more popular.
