You do everything you can and exert time and effort to every post you publish but you are not getting enough search engine traffic. The next thing you do is check the analytics engine and see that the level of traffic you used to gain is now on a down low.

There are actually a lot of reasons why you are facing this problem. A possibility is the sudden change of reputation of the site or author, new websites, or bad content. But with every problem comes with a solution. Here are the possible ten massive reasons why you are not getting search engine traffic like you used to:

1. You’re are not posting something that visitors are looking for

The first order of business when starting a blog or website is finding a focus or topic whether it's fashion, business, or food, the author must put content that people want to see. Your posts should address what people are dying to find out.

It is your job to do your research before posting anything. The first order of business is to find out what keywords your readers use when they search something. Ignoring this will not help you get the level of search engine that you are aiming for. Hence, all your efforts will be laid to rest.

2. Your content is not as good as you say it is

Be thorough with the content you want to put on your blog or website. Google is a powerful search engine that optimizes high-quality and relevant content. Meaning, good content should always be the first thing on your mind. The best way for this is to put in keywords that matter. Keywords should be part of your headline and body.

Some of the best websites out there is something that is original and unbiased. When you are writing about someone or something, make sure that both sides of the story are included and verified properly because want to read something they haven’t seen from other websites.

3. Your website is not properly indexed

Indexing is the analyzing of information collected by Googlebot from its crawling activities. Important notes to indexing are title tags and ALT attributes because they are also processed during indexing.

If you blog or website is not indexed, they're minimal possibilities for content to be search engine optimized. And even though search engines like Google will automatically index your site, good quality content with searchable keywords is still the key to achieving the level of traffic you want.

4. Keywords are key to get search engine traffic

Make a list of keywords that people search and are relevant to your blog post and audience. Each keyword should be searched at least 500 times monthly. Do not insert keywords to irrelevant posts and it is recommended to write one blog post for each keyword.

Another tip is to put the keyword in your headline. Always remember that there are only 10 spots per page on every search engines, so if you plan to complete with thousands of other websites who has a similar content as yours, make sure your site is trusted.

Furthermore, use keywords that are used competitive enough to put you on the top 10 spot to get a good ranking. For example, if you’re writing about the latest fashion trends, think of a headline that is different from the other thousands using the same keyword.

5. Finding good links

One reason for not getting enough search engine traffic is having low-quality links. They are usually spam or websites that no longer exist. Make sure to update your site with high-quality links to keep your ranking on the top. To achieve this, make sure your website or blog has good quality content because the links don’t just come to those who lack off. Remember that great quality attracts best links and that it is always quality over quantity.

6. Mobile-friendly sites are the way to go

With the fast paced world, everything on the internet can be accessed easily nowadays. Make sure your website is mobile-ready for visitors who are always on their smartphones and are on-the-go. Other than that, choose themes that are responsive to mobiles and desktops. This is not hard because most websites have an option of mobile view that is different when you are accessing through the desktop.

7. Knowing the competition

The internet is a big and competitive world. You should always put effort to improve the content on your website because to being on top means another website’s standing must go down. It is true when Heidi Klum says one day you’re in and the next day you’re out because this saying applies not only to Project Runway but also in the real world. Staying on top is an eternal battle, so always look for ways to improve the quality of your work.

In conclusion, great quality content is the key to getting search engine traffic you want. You also need dedication and should continue working on updating and improving your website. Use the right keywords and use words that are search optimized.
