As we know Apple has filed patent for their new app that would provide a lock-out mechanism to stop drivers to use cell phone for text messaging and use of other distracting features while driving. This automated system would be highly appropriate by experts to reduce thousands of accidents. We should say thanks to Apple for their efforts to save life while driving because; it is supposed to be dangerous and ubiquitous problem of drivers who use their cellphone behind the wheel for text messaging.

This iPhone App works by using Sensors, which would be used for detecting speed and how fast the driver is traveling and whether they are in the driver seat or passenger seat, by using algorithm, which detect the relative position of the driver to the wheel. Apple submitted patent for this app describes how a device could detect if it was moving by looking at data from GPS and images from camera. However, texting and other distracting features access while driving is an addiction and very hard to break.

In the world of highly professional Social Media Network, where almost every person is habitual and want to stay connected over Social media affecting low attention, unresponsive nature in real life. A large portion of people using social media apps and other stuff many times in a single day. Many times, it has happened that we were shocked to hear unique cases, where people lost their attention while driving or walking and result in bad accidents and car crashes. Now days, these types of news are more often we can hear in our regular life.

The National Safety Council (NSC) has estimated, in a whole year at least 1.6 million car crashes occur because drivers using cellphone and engaging in texting. In 2013 there have been 97,000 car accidents related to cell phone use or texting in the United States. The council report also states that talking on a cell phone while driving causes four times more likely to crash and texting while driving increases chances of crash by up to 8 to 23 times more.

There are several Android Apps available on App Store, which is aimed to perform similar function, but appleâs tight controls on what apps can access and cannot on the iPhone. Apple could have the culture and power to solve this problem because large portion of consumers have iPhone device and this would be very good steps if apple efforts pays back to save thousands of lives.
