Like me am certain that countless BlackBerry lovers have waited eagerly for the much anticipated
BlackBerry 10 OS and after its release in all probability have rooted for this new OS to be proclaimed
its grand comeback of sorts. Now that BB10 has arrived in the smartphone market, it claims to be a
complete spin off from the not so popular BB OS7 platform. The Canadian firm has made some strategic moves in a bid to save themselves from the giants like Android and iOS that have already consumed a major chunk of the market share. With their brand new BB 10 OS, is a hope for success unlimited, however does the BlackBerry10 OS stand true to its claim? You and I can only analyze and figure that out.

If you have been a BlackBerry user then with the BB10 you will see an entirely novel user interface,
something that seems parallel to its competitors, however possessing some very unique BB features.
Basically for an effortless user navigation experience the application lists, widgets and homescreens
have all been merged to characterize a smooth interface.

BlackBerry10 welcomes its users with a Homescreen and a Lockscreen. A Lockscreen is designed to give you a quick rundown on unread messages, notifications, upcoming events and of course the date and time. In contrast the Homescreen constitutes of ‘Active Frames’ which put simply gives you a synopsis of an available application which can later be launched to get the full deal. So basically the screen typically will display around eight frames at any given time.

The foundation of BlackBerry 10 OS which can be termed its nucleus is the Flow and Peak. They
primarily command the manner in which you will use the system and also differentiates it from other
systems. With Peek, you can peep into your inbox and notifications without it hindering the application
that was in use whereas Flow defines your entire BB10 operation.

The standard inbox that you would typically find on your BB10, is the BlackBerry Hub and needless
to say depicts any and every form of communication ranging from emails, messages, social updates
and the like. Hub also allows to multiply the notifications from varied social sources that your account
is linked with. And then there is the infamous BlackBerry Messenger which has been the BB anchor
for very many years also gets a refurbished look. A new addition to the BBM is BBM video, which also
connects to BBM Voice, thereby enabling users to enjoy both voice and video on BB10.

The BB10 also has a brand new Browser keeping it in sync with the latest leading devices. You can see the URL at the bottom of the page and allows you to get an access to all of your desired flash sites. The new browser also has a reader mode which basically accentuates what you are reading from the web so that it is more comprehensible and perhaps what will appeal most about the browser is the lightning fast speed.

Also to enable snappy multitasking BB10 has a fresh system of navigation called Cascades. This is by far a characteristic that can be termed spontaneous and works swiftly on the handset. BlackBerry World may or may not be your favourite application store, however what they promise is few but quality centered applications with developers working to create more particularly for this platform.

With some of the very promising changes that BB10 has surprised us with, I feel that it is equipped to
stand head on with its competitors, however the complexities of the BB10 OS iron out with time and no
sooner will you experience that it actually does give you smooth ride!
