Here are Common Characteristics that Brandable Domains Have

With any mention of brandable domains what is referred to include names without keywords that lack a certain descriptive meaning. The domain and name could have a direct meaning or reference to a product or business although the domains hardly indicate it directly. Rather, qualities of the service, product and brand are conveyed, including values and character. As non-descriptive domains, they have a chance of building a real robust brand value with time, but they are not likely to have been registered already as domains. These brandable domains also provide a lot of flexibility within the brand since they are not tagged permanently or even associated with a descriptive category that looks narrow.

For example, rather than seek a domain such as thetopsearchengine.com, the giant search engine, Google, went for a brandable search engine. Brandable domains come with a number of characteristics worth looking at.

Relevancy

Either through an implied or complementary meaning, brandable domains relate to the service, product, and purpose or mission whether they describe it or not.

One of a kind

It goes without saying a brandable domain is unique. They are very distinct and different from any that your competition might have. A brandable domain is in a way very intriguing and also express a rather unique personality very distinct.

Hard to forget

Brandable domains are very easy to recall and remember as much as they are unique. Since it is possible the domain is the only one of its kind on the internet you might find it hard to forget because it is so unique and something you probably haven’t seen around.

Credible

A brandable domain sounds and appears very professional and trustworthy apart from sounding very unusual and creative. In fact, for most domain names today, the fact that they carry words about top quality and best in them makes people question their credibility. A brandable domain is positive or agreeable at first sight and cannot be corrupted with ease.

Short

They are also very brief, with most brandable domains with a word or two. It is mostly about them being very memorable and also because the owner would want a visitor to the site to easily key in the domain in a browser without forgetting a single letter.

User-friendly

Every brandable domain is all about being user-friendly and does not leave room for confusion while it is very easy to utter and spell. Digits do not include numbers, weird jargon or abbreviations. They read right away as a number of words rather than a jumble of letters. They have characters that do not repeat to ensure keyboarding errors have been discouraged.

Again, using Google as an example, it represents all the mentioned characteristics although it does appear odd. In fact, not many people have any ideal about what Google means, which is a mathematical theory or a number that boggles the mind because it is "one" followed by about a hundred zeros. In the beginning, the name might have lacked authority and relevancy but today this is not the case. Google is now the top name that comes to mind when anyone talks about the internet and doing online searches.
