How to Recover Contacts from iPhone

Since the iOS 8 and the later launched, many iPhone users claims that they losing iPhone contacts while trying to update. In addition to this, in fact, there are still many reasons that lead to contacts lost, such as accident deletion, iPhone hard reset, failure sync and so on. You have a few options for restoring your iPhone contacts, including the Address Book or Outlook, FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery and an iTunes backup.

Method 1: Restore iPhone Contacts from Address Book or Outlook

Connect iPhone to your computer using the USB cord. Then, launch iTunes.
Click your iPhone of the iTunes window and click the "Info" tab from the left sidebar.
Click "Sync Contacts With" and then select "Outlook", "Google Contacts" or "Yahoo" from the drop-down menu (whichever corresponds to the program or service you are using) and click "Apply".
Click "OK" when you see a notification appear on your screen, alerting you that the contacts have been imported.

Method 2: Restore Contacts from iPhone Directly with Recovery Program

Download, install and launch iPhone Data Recovery. Then connect iPhone to the computer when iTunes is off.
Click "Start Scan" to let the program begin to scan your iPhone.
When scanning is complete, click "Contacts" on the left column to preview all contacts, including the existing contacts and the lost.
Choose the contacts you want back and click "Recover" to get them back on your PC.

Tips: This method is very helpful when you don't have any backup files or when you only want to recover contacts, but donâ€™t want to restore all data from iTunes.

Method 3: Recover Deleted iPhone Contacts via iTunes Backup

Connect iPhone to the computer and open iTunes
Click "File" on the menu bar, then select "Devices" > "Restore from Backup".

Or: Right click the name of the iPhone in the Sidebar and choose Restore from Backup.

Or: Open the iPhone's Summary tab and then click the "Restore Backup" button.

3. Choose the backup you wish to sync and click the Restore button.
