You can also block out time in your schedule for vacation time and give short or long description of a particular scheduled appointment. One of the advantages of using Google powered applications is that you can link it to other Google application which includes the Google search engine.

While using Google Calendar, you may use the Google search engine to search on a particular event or conference timing. You can then synchronize that particular event's schedule to your own personal Google calendar.
