An Overview on Some Popular User Interface Framework (Part 2) - Image 1

The first part of my article was a brief on a few popular frameworks and its features. The second part of my article will give the readers a preview on which framework to choose and why it can prove to be the best one for you.

Given the variety of framework like front-end framework or a backend framework and depending on your requirements, the framework that you choose can be an ideal one for you. Frameworks are already of pre-prepared standards and of customary kits. If you prefer to use a giant choice of themes or want your framework to support Internet Explorer 8, you can opt for Bootstrap. If you need to work with rems and pixels, then Foundation can be the best for you.

Major features to consider while choosing an ideal framework

Speed: Some are terribly simple and easy to put in and begin use. Others require different time and configuration.

Ease of understanding: Some are straightforward to grasp and a few are bit difficult.

Some frameworks have additional complications and others come with Options: different configuration options.

Ability to customize: Bootstrap removes friction from your path whereas Foundation tends to supply few additional customizations, which may slow you down a little.

Browser Support and Performance: Each has sensible performance and browser support. Foundation does not support Internet Explorer 8.

Community and Support: Most of the designer follows Bootstrap, which suggests you are more likely to get solution if you run into issues.

What can be an ideal framework for you?

Watch out for the following features in a framework you choose

  • Speedy mock up process
  • Neat coding
  • Common CSS problems comes with solutions
  • Compatibility of browser
  • Learning good practices
  • Collaborative work process
  • To have a single procedure to resolve common problems makes maintaining projects easier.

Keep an eye on the drawbacks as well

  • Mixing up the content and presentation
  • Codes unused or leftover
  • Learning curve is slower
  • You do not have to learn to do it yourself

There are some more and very popular frameworks like Ember Js, Batman Js, Google Closure, Cappuccino, Spine Js that I am about to review and present you with a comparative study in my upcoming article. So keep following. But for now the winner appears to be Kendo UI, that comes with almost everything that a developer needs to work with. I recently worked out with a Kendo UI application, apart from a little performance issues it turned out to do well. It is definitely a framework to watch out for.
