This year, Google’s I/O keynote brought an amazing gift for developers and users alike, the new Android M. Google is keen on making it the best android version. Last year it released Android Lollipop, which is by far the best of all. New Android M will smarter, better and safer. During the keynote, six important points were presented that Android M will feature. However, Google also mentioned there will lot changes that Android M will carry which impossible to show in one presentation.

Here are the top nine improvements that you will see in Android M.
1. Easy Word Selection
When David Burke, Software Head, announced this features someone in the crows cried out finally. This shows how much users needed this feature. This brings new thing on the table, a new floating clipboard for easy word selection. Now there will be floating toolbar alongside the obscure icons while selecting the text. It will have more clear and concise copy paste options.
2. Fingerprint Sensor Support
Google is building API for much anticipated fingerprint support. Most of the high-end phones are now using fingerprint sensor and Android offering better system to use that sensor will be great advantage for users. This will unify the way phone manufacturers offer fingerprint scanner, as they will be compatible with Android itself.
3. Direct Share
Social media has become an important integration for any device. This version gives a much better option to share things from your phone. As users, you might have seen long list of apps in the form of sharing option but now Android M fixes this by prioritizing the options. It gives you the options that you use most frequently which are more logical thing to do.
4. Doze
Much like iPhone, Android introduces a deeper state of sleep for phone, which will save lot battery. Google boasts, it will double the battery life. Phones and tablet spend lot of time idle on table tops. Now you will be able to hibernate your phone where only alarms and priority apps to notify you. This is much better way to improve the battery and would be very useful improvement.
5. New Volume Control
Users complaining about a better volume control will now have their prayers answered. Google first made the change with Android KitKat and the outcry resulted into an even worse volume control in Lollipop. It is now fixed with Android M, now volume controls will be granular with separate control for alarm, media, and ringer volume.
6. Google Now
Google now is useful thing to get relative things on your phone. Android M offers Google Now ‘on Tap’. Your voice searches will be contextually recognized with in app. Even if you are running an app, like music player you launch voice search asking anything like who is this singer. It will understand reference this. This is again good improvement on old one.
7. Autobackup for Apps
Android app will back up your app data automatically and you restore your apps easily. This is done targeting apps and developer will not have to anything extra in term of coding, the Android M will take care of it. However, if user deletes Google account the backup will be deleted. The apps are backed up every 24 hours when device is idle, and connected to Wi-Fi network. Now upgrading to new phone will be much easier.
8. App Permission
With predecessors, request to access other app was granted while installing but now with Android M, app will have to request permissions every time it requires access. This makes the phone safer and gives user more control.
9. Android Pay
Google has made efforts in the past to get into mobile payments. With Android M, it will their latest effort. They will preinstall Android Pay on every Android M device. Much like very payment app, it will be your virtual money to make purchases over mobile all you have to do is add credit card information once. Using fingerprint system with it will make the Android Pay one of the safest way to make payment. Google do not specify what will happen to Google wallet.

Google at their even made sure that they give developers as much as information what they are planning to do. Google is also keeping other technology in mind which Internet of Things, new Google market and many more which will forces some new changes in Android M. Android M is expected to hit the market in Q3 this year with next edition of Nexus. With Lollipop, yet roll out on most of devices, users will have to wait little longer.
