One of the easiest ways to gain visibility on the Internet is to start a blog â whether it is to share ideas, recipes or anything else. There are several free options to choose from like Blogger, TypePad and WordPress to name a few. Of the lot, WordPress is the most used for a couple of simple yet important reasons â it offers users the most control and it is easy to use. There are 2 different ways that the website works â self hosted or otherwise. Here we look at a self-hosted blog site. Whatâs more, the entire process takes less than 30 minutes and here is how to do it.

How to set up a Blog in 2 steps

  1. Getting resources together. You can also look up for professional help from www.wordpress-experte.com

  2. Setting up a Hosting Account: This is the address for your blog. It will exist in a cloud account and as an account holder, you rent space. In this space, you install WordPress and everything else you need to manage the blog. There are many hosting service companies â so check out which one suits your needs the best. Take into account what kind of customer help they have, reliability, ease of use, what WordPress recommends, whether they have limits on space offered, how affordable the package is and their company values. Go to the host site and choose the Get Started button. Pick a payment plan. Hit Select. Now you will have to decide the domain name you would like to use. If you donât have one, enter it in box on the left hand side and pick an extension (.com, .net. or whatever you like). Click Next. Fill out the requested information, pick your package and then Sign Up. Please note that you will have to pay the hosting fees in advance. Enter the requested information for billing. You will have to confirm that you agree with their terms and conditions and click Next. The provided information will be verified and you will be asked to pick upgrades. Skip all of the steps and click on Complete to finish. This will take a couple of minutes. You will see the Welcome page of the chosen host and you will be prompted to Create Password. It is a good idea to use a password generator software to create a hacker proof password. Copy and paste this information on to your clipboard. Paste in the necessary field and check the box to agree to terms and conditions. Click the Create Account button. This helps to create your account. If you get an error message, call the toll free Support Desk number for assistance. You will be directed to a new Login screen. The domain name should automatically pop up â if it doesnât, type it in and use your password.

  3. Installing Word Press: There are quite a few steps here but with some patience, you can do it quite easily. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and go to the Website section. Click Install WordPress and wait for it to load. A new screen will appear and click Install. This will bring up a new screen where you can choose the domain on which you want WordPress installed. The default setting should be the right one. Click on the button Check Domain. The next screen will indicate that it is the last step. Pick Advanced Options. Put in your title/site name. The host site will suggest an Admin Username and Password. Accept these and note that you can change them later when you are more familiar with the siteâs workings. Click the box to accept Terms and Conditions. The next step is to click the Install button. The process will started and you will get updates on the progress. Once installation is complete, click on View Credentials. You will be directed to the Notification Center. Click View. Once the processing is done, you will see a screen with your registered Blog URL, Login, Username and Password. Note the information down â you will of course receive an email with the information from the host. Have a backup copy for unforeseen circumstances. You are now ready to take the next steps â the difficult part is over.
