How to Unlock PST Password Protected File

Password protected file means that file protected, secured with a password and third person cannot access your file without the password. Microsoft also provides options for users can protect Outlook PST files by password encryption. Users Emails contain confidential and sensitive data related to business this is a main reason user use password protection for mailbox folder. In Outlook, CRC32 program applied to save password and CRC32 program generates 32-bit hash code.
You want to access PST file and entered a password but you cannot access the PST file if you do not have the correct password, if you forget a password, so many other reasons.
This situation really frustrating you enter password many times, but you cannot access the file. Microsoft provides solution of this problem- manual solution. If you lost the original password of the PST file, forgotten and you want to access a password secure PST file without having the original password, you can use manual solution.Manual solution with pst19upg.exe and scan.exe
The manual solution of this problem generally you cannot recover the old PST password, but you can set a new password for your PST file and remove the old password from PST file. First download pst19upg.exe file and keep a backup of the original PST file before starting manual PST password removal process. Then follow given steps:
1). Before starting process, close outlook and create a backup.
2). Make sure your backup process is complete, then search scan.exe from windows search or application locate at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 and run scan.exe.
3). Select PST file and then select option repair.
4). After the repair process complete, go to start type cmd. Cmd for command prompt.5). Type path of pst19upg.exe and your PST password protected file name (<PATH>\ pst19upg.exe -x Filename.pst). And press Enter key.
6). When a command (x-flag) successfully executed. Command to export data from your PST file to a new file. But you cannot access the new file because the new file extension is different (filename.psx).
7). Then you need to convert .psx file extension to .pst file extension.
8). Now, go to command prompt and type following command:
<PATH>\ pst19upg.exe -i filename.psx. Press Enter key.
Disadvantages
This process needs a large amount of space to successfully execute. There is no guarantee of commands successfully remove password from PST file. The Second disadvantage of these commands does not work with Outlook 2003 or lower version.
Conclusion
Manual solution available for remove password from PST file. But sometime this solution not effective. But the second option for user is available it is third party software. Many PST password Breaker software available on internet you can easily download recovery software and use them. I also used PST password Recovery software and I have successfully recovered my old PST password. The software provides an effective method for password recover. So I recommended third party software for password recovery.
