    Apps on iOS store and read data with in their own directory. That is the reason why Safari mobile would not be able to use these files.

    As per Apple, each app is an island. It creates a folder with the name of the app and stores the app files with in that folder. You can get more details of iOS file directory structure here.

    With the Launch of iOS6, you are now able to now only images and video file inputs from your photo gallery.
