Introduction:
The LPI certification program is designed to certify the competency of system administration using the Linux operating system and its associated tools. It is designed to be distribution neutral, following the Linux Standard Base and other relevant standards and conventions. The L117-201 exam is designed to test your basic knowledge on the Linux kernel, system startup, file system, hardware configuration, system maintenance, DNS server configuration, network client management, etc. This is a required exam for LPI certification Level 2. It covers advanced skills for the Linux professional that are common across all distributions of Linux.
Candidate must have an active LPIC-1 certification to receive LPIC-2 certification, but the LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 exams may be taken in any order. No prerequisites are required for this exam.

Multiple-choice questions are of three types: Multiple choice, multiple response, and Sample directions. In addition, the exam also contains fill in the blank type of questions presented in multiple-choice format. 90 minutes are given for completion of exam. The test can be taken in English language. Minimum passing score required is 500 (on a scale of 200-800). The price of $173 USD is required for taking the test. Prices may vary in some jurisdictions due to currency conversions and exchange rates.
