It is just 6.1mm thick (down 7.5mm) and weighs 437g (for Wi-Fi version) or 444g (with 3G) down from 469g/478. You will feel like you can slide your phone under room door now. Actually we did tried this and trust me it does slip under the door, whereas iPad Air 1 cannot.
But it seems that Apple run out of ideas slightly with its new model atleast on outside. The new iPad Air is 18% thinner at 6.1mm and polished things up in other areas.
You won’t find the mute switch that is something of a surprise as it was a quick and handy way to make sure that you won’t be able to get email beeps at meeting or night.
The volume switch remains but in design terms you will feel like that it is an update yet, the iPad Air 2 is one of the nicest tablets to hold.
Its light weight, smooth back and excellent balance will make you feel good than its previous model. In respects iPad Air 2 features same screen as it was in iPad Air 1 but with minor variations. It measures 9.7 inches and resolution of 2048 x 1536 and pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. That's the iPad Retina pixel density and the sharp look.
By compressing everything in a smaller form Apple was grateful to take out what it call ‘air gaps' between the elements of the screen. Apple added an anti-reflective coating. Finally the screen appears to be more responsive on a single touch. Apple says that it has improved the touch tracking on the display. Swiping on screen is "incredibly responsive", and "more fluid responses" for the finger painting.

It is not a huge leap in visual fidelity you experience will depend on the shooting conditions.
