Top 5 Singapore Travel Apps - Image 1

Given its technological background, The Lion City is the mastermind behind the best local travel apps out there on the market today. These apps help both locals and tourists eat, sleep and keep entertained. Downloading them has never been easier; a couple clicks and you’re there. Because of this, there has been an influx of all kinds of apps for all types of travellers in the store. Only a few are worth downloading, though. Here is a list of five of the best apps you’ll need if you’re in Singapore. By Sohaib S.
HungryGoWhere
It's no secret that Singapore's popularity is largely based on the variety of cross-cultural cuisine blends it has to offer. HungryGoWhere will show you food reviews written by local diners. The app has a record of over 6,000 food and beverage spots around the city-state and around 20,000 total reviews. It also includes photos, maps and directions so you can get to wherever you choose when your stomach commands.

Hosay!

The Hosay! app is ideal for those who want to understand the art of Singaporean English, or, Singlish. Hosay! includes 80 or so phrases that will help you order food, give greetings and insult others. If you’re worried about pronunciation, then just hit the audio button. There are also definitions for each phrase. You’ll now be able to order a kopi-gau with a solid local accent!
iChangi

iChangi will give you latest flight arrival/departure information at Singapore's Changi Airport. There’s no denying that Changi Airport is one of the best out there-and now, to make it better, there’s an app to ease the travelling process. It will notify you on delays, tell where your plane is, and will also recommend dining and shopping spots at Changi.
HotelClub

Many of the world’s best accommodation providers offer an app or tool that makes the whole booking process easier. HotelClub’s booking app takes the number one spot, though. The user-friendliness of this little gem makes it ridiculously simple to book a hotel in Singapore-in just 3 taps! There are enough reviews and photos to help make up your mind, as well as advanced sort/filter options. You can also link your member rewards scheme from HotelClub to get mobile offers and discounts.
ComfortDelGro Taxi

If you’re lost in Singapore your best option is to somehow get into a taxi. The city-state can get confusing, especially at night when it’s dark, and ComfortDelGro Taxi may be your only option. You can book a cab, even if you don’t know where you are, and skip long taxi lines by a few taps on your smartphone. The user-friendliness is on another level with this app. It uses your GPS to automatically call for a cab. You can also bookmark favourite locations and launch them at start up to make the whole process quicker. If you login, you can view your latest pick-up spots. It really is convenience at its best.
