File Transfer Made Easier with Apps [Android]

If there's one thing that is worth mentioning about Android phones that others don't have is their ability to become literally a storage device. Apart from Android being customizable and tweak-able, there is so much you can do as you tap it all away-and yes, when you load it with the right apps.

What you will only need to make it function like a storage device is a microSD card with high capacity and a USB data cable that you will connect between your phone and your computer; then you're good to go. You can share and transfer any files vice versa. Or, if you're going to share a file to another smartphone, you can just turn on each of the device's Bluetooth and start sharing. But the only problem is this: it will definitely take time if you are sending a large file. Plus, do you always bring your data cables with you? I'm pretty sure most of us don't. Good thing, we can still rely almost anything on our trusty smartphones. Load them with these apps and make file sharing a lot easier! Although I do hope this won't render all of us as lazy butts. If you haven't heard of Dropbox before, then you must have just been born yesterday. Dropbox has been widely used across almost all platforms. Then again, why should you be thrilled? That's because as long as your smartphone or tablet is connected to the cloud, you can actually store your files securely in it and sync these files to all your other devices. What you have to do first is to drop the files to your Dropbox storage space in order for you to share or access them. Once you've transferred your files, allow it to sync across all your devices with Dropbox app installed, and you're good to go. Dropbox holds 2GB storage, and it's up to you to maximize the space. #2: WiFi File Transfer



If it isn't even evident in its name, WiFi File Transfer app can get your files transferred in a jiffy. It's technically a light app that lets you upload and download multiple files at once to and/or from your phone or tablet-and yes, wirelessly. This app automatically connects its service when it is connected to home network. And as you keep it connected to your home network, you will then see your device's internal memory and SD card. From there, you can upload or download any files to your liking. This just works even faster than a USB connection. Apparently, the free version only allows transferring files with only 4 MB in size. But, once you've got the paid version, there would be no limit in size for only $1.40. [Free on Android]

#3: AirDroid



AirDroid promises three things-also, they call it their AirDroid Philosophy: 1. One less cable, 2. One less screen; and 3. One less worry. So, literally, it helps you manage your files all over the air. Again, keeping all your devices connected to Wi-Fi, you can move your files on and off your device without the use of USB cables. Secondly, you can also send or receive text messages from your personal computer without having to look on your smartphone. And lastly, if at worse, your phone got pilfered, you need not worry about the data in your device as you can locate and lock your Android immediately. But if the chances are odd to get it back, you can simply wipe all data in your device remotely. [Free on Android]
