· Clear logo
Whether you are creating a business card or website, you are a small or large company, you want a clear, easily recognizable logo. A clear and recognizable logo is, even more, important in the online shopping world. This creates trust and acts as a reassuring symbol for the online shopper.
· Easily visible shopping cart box
This is a no-brainer, but you should always have a visible, easy to find shopping cart button or icon. Obviously, you want the customer to make the purchase and if they can’t find the shopping cart fast enough, that may compromise the sale.
For that matter, your search box and login box also need to be clearly seen, no matter what page the customer is currently browsing. Most sites use these icons and place them together, in the top corner of the page. Think in terms of s shopping cart icon, magnify icon (to symbolize search) and a login box. All of which are easily identifiable by anyone who may need to utilize the buttons.
· Strong product descriptions
Effective product web descriptions have a preferable 200 words. The description should be well written, and include all the details such as the dimensions, shipping, weight, etc. of the product.
· Call-to-action buttons
The whole purpose of your web pages is to connect with a customer and get them to buy the item. Which is why all effective e-commerce sites have a clear call to action buttons. Each page should lead the customer to an action such as buy now or download here. For every product that you have on your page, you need a clear end result.
· Visible contact information
It is always important to remember to include your contact information in a highly visible area of you page. Phone numbers, email addresses and any other useful information should be included. This establishes trust and opens a line of communication between your company and the customer. Plus, it makes purchases more efficient.
· High-resolution images
This one is a no-brainer. Why would anyone spend a lot of time, let alone make a purchase, on a site that did not have high-quality images? If you want your products to sell, you need to show them off. Do so by only uploading high-resolution images to you site. After the content of the site, this should be the most important aspect.
Make sure the image is of the highest possible quality. Also, a lot of customers want to zoom in on the photos. You want to make absolutely certain that they have the ability to be enlarged without looking distorted. Lastly, include more than one image and angle of the product. Your photos should reduce the questions, concerns and returns from the customer.
