Apple’s Positive Moves For iOS App Developers

In spite of being app economy’s cornerstone, we have seen little changes in Apple’s App Store over the years. No deny to some incremental updates but when it comes to fundamentals, the portion has been remained static until up to now but, not anymore.

Apple recently announced that it will bring a set of changes making App Store fit into the modern world. So what does Apple mean by these changes?

Any app can use subscription monetization method

Apple has discovered the potentiality of app subscription model. Now any app will be able to use subscriptions for monetization. Gaming apps, which have long been a dominating category, are not able to use subscriptions but as Apple updated, new changes will allow gaming app developers to use subscriptions in their apps. This will of course encourage any iOS app development company engaged in gaming apps for iPhone and iPad devices.

The more an app is sticky and constantly updated, the more it will get rewards

For now, iOS app development companies venturing with their app ideas receive 70 percent of the revenue generated via subscriptions. But this will change in coming days. As Apple has changed its remuneration model, the 70 percent of payout may reach up to 85 percent. But only those apps will be rewarded which are sticky and constantly updated.

Apps will become more discoverable

Apple is improving its app-discovery by bringing back its categories tab and updating the Featured section which won’t show the apps you already have. When using 3D touch on any app on your home screen, you will be able to recommend the app to your friends. This implementation is aimed at exposing users to more apps, encouraging them to spend and of course adopt latest releases.

Many anticipated ads will be available now

Developers have been clam oring for ads for so long and so Apple as added it this time. In densely crowded Apple Store, this new addition is going to help an iOS app development company easily reach those users who are interesting in their offering.

Rapid App Approval Process

Apple is also decreasing the amount to time it takes to review and approve apps. It’s exciting news for developers. With this new approach, developers will quickly be able to move to market. The removal of lengthier approval process has already begun to encourage iOS application development companies thinking to build more apps in future.

By and large, the updates by Apple will take the platform in a positive direction. Let’s see how will iOS developers react when Apple really implements all the announced updates.
