App stores of both platforms iOS and Android together have more than 4 million apps but not all of them are successful. Many of them do not even get a respectful number of downloads. So why does a mobile development fail even if being based on a fantastic idea?

There are certain reasons why does a mobile application development fail. Top of them are as follows:

Not targeting the right platform

Choosing platforms is a critical decision. As we know Android is the most popular platform with more than 80% market share. Creating an app for Android will give you desired exposure. If your app is aimed at providing information and selling product online, Android is the best platform. If you are looking for a widespread mobile presence, an Android app development can do wonders.

But if an app is aimed at generating revenue such as gaming app that you want to sell and make money from, choosing iOS is the best decision. iOS still generates 85 percent of the whole app revenue. Often time developers do not choose the right platform and do mistake.

Lack of Adequate Testing

When it comes to smooth running of an app, testing proves to be vital stage in mobile app development process. A great mobile app product is the result of meticulous planning, development and of course, testing. Testing helps you make your mobile app free of bugs/ errors and ensure that everything is working flawlessly. But do not think that testing is a single time process and will end once the app is implemented on stores. In fact, testing never ends. As you make changes and modifications, you will need more testing to ensure how changes are affecting your app. So it keeps going, ever.

Creating App without Any Business Strategy

Another mistake some businesses or developers do is heading for building an app without a being specific with goals. This approach often results in failure at the end. The situation can be avoided by first analyzing your requirements and then determining whether an app will help you to fulfill them or not.

Not Doing Proper Marketing of App

Users will never know about a product unless you inform them. Same applies on an app. To let users know about your app, you need to have a perfect marketing plan ready and then implement it at right time. You can promote your app on various platforms, through more channels than one to get desired publicity.

Warping up

These pointers will help developers learn the best way to implement a mobile app by avoiding all possible mistakes.

Thank you for such a useful article which decribes the most common difficulties while developing mobile app. The choice of the right platform is a really complicated and significant issue. What about testing-unfortunately not all QA developers thoroughly check all the aspects that finally leads to the total unusability. And, of course, without any marketing efforts, the app is doomed to stay in the storeroom. In order to expand this actual theme, I want to suggest some additional reasons for app failure such as a wrong choice of the target audience, not user-friendly design, etc. and ways/advice how to avoid these problems.
