The Future of Technology in the Modern World

Technology evolves at a rapid pace. Certainly no one in 1996 would have predicted that today most people use the internet through a touch screen phone that can fit in your pocket. As new technology is introduced, it will alter people’s lives in new and exciting ways. Here are some of the technological innovations that may end up changing the modern world.

3D Printing

Previously, people only thought of printing as a 2D process in which text and images were placed onto paper, fabric or some other flat surface. Thanks to highly advanced 3D modeling computer programs and printer hardware that uses plastic filaments as opposed to ink, a person can use a consumer 3D printer to create a plastic object of nearly any shape. However, the possibilities for 3D printing do not end there. The technology can be used to create shapes in metal, ceramic and many other materials as well. There is even testing being performed to find a way to use 3D printing to create replacement body parts for people.

IT Infrastructure Needs

As technology continues to evolve, the need for new IT infrastructure will become increasingly important. There is, for one, a cap on the current internet infrastructure. If more data is to be downloaded and uploaded quicker in the future, the internet infrastructure will have to be expanded upon significantly. Things like IT support will also become increasingly important. Some companies, like Bedrock IT, offer Ottawa IT services, to create solutions for IT management. If that does happen, political issues like net neutrality that saw regular citizens fighting against huge corporations for the internet’s resources will be moot. Nearly any piece of data will be able to be accessed from anywhere in mere nanoseconds. The possibilities are endless.

Wearable Medical Tech

One area of human civilization that is certain to greatly benefit from technology is healthcare. Hospitalization costs the US tax payer and insurance companies endless millions. However, in the future, far less people will have to remain in hospitals or nursing homes. This is due to wearable medical tech that is able to keep close track of a patient’s vital signs. If something were to go wrong with a patient’s health, medical professionals could be alerted immediately via wireless communication from the device. This may allow far more people to live at their homes independently than is the case now.

Overall, the evolution of technology really is an amazing thing. These are only a few of the recent technological developments that are shaping the modern world. As new tech is introduced and becomes widespread, people’s lives are certain to improve.
