Web design has evolved with the time like other skills along with more resources available for it. But when it comes to web design, it is important to understand that we have a web design that not only looks good but works well too. When you are a web design, you are well aware of the importance of the selection of the color palette. Not the color palette but the emphasis and balance of colors in the entire web design. Stick to Two or Three Colors

When you are about to select a color, you need to run a background research of the brand so you send across the right message with the color usage. Make a conscious decision, take options and arrange them in a template to see the effect before you finalize on the colors. Don’t get carried away, stick to two or three colors. You also need to consider the trends in the colors context considering the geographical factors. There has to be one color that you fix as your base color that is your primary color and the secondary colors that your will be using to highlight elements. So keep these points and leave scope for some possibilities as there may be places, where you might have to leave your color palette in order to highlight an element.


Choose Neutral Colors

Your palette must have white or black – i.e. neutral colors. These colors let you create the differentiation allowing creating combinations for blocks, text etc. They also make the readability and legibility better. They are the colors that are more or less the necessary element of the web design. It offers minimalism, simplicity in the design. They are also very internationally preferred colors for web designs.

Flat or Graphic Designs

Flat designs are trending and this trend is here to stay. Flat design offers simplicity and give you eye pleasing design. It is neat and clean and also offers clarity in animation visibility. It is a good design trends that picked in the visual culture and most web designers today prefer flat designs and flat colors for web design.

What to avoid?

- Use more than 4 Colors

- Vibrating Colors

- Gradient Colors

- Equal importance to colors (there has to be difference between the usage of primary and secondary colors in the palette )
