In our modern world, the future of any country and of the human race depends in the quality of superior education. This domain currently goes through a profound transformation, which is beneficial for the future generations. The universities and colleges at a worldwide level are just about to implement some fundamental changes in the way those function and interact with students, graduates, teachers and personnel.

The quality of knowledge generated by the superior education institutions and their willingness to implement new systems is important. The new technology, which is based on collecting and using details about all the implied factors represent a central element for education today.

The technological, economical, social and governmental forces impose the modification of education dramatically, with a major impact on the teachers and students. Those have a huge potential of talented people, but for using those resources, advanced training is needed. Even in the educational area, even if we are generally speaking about students, those can be considered as “clients” of the universities where they study.

The superior learning institutions need strategies that will make students more receptive, and they will determine a fast and effective answer. The best organization in the world will be inefficient if it is not focused on clients. Different colleges and universities initiated the restructuration of the operational processes, with the goal of reducing costs. This way, they will become more efficient, especially if they are able to determine what are the most important directions in which students can develop.

A CRM program is important because of the changes that take place in the competition world. Globalization and internet mean a competition that is beneficial for the entire world. It is essential for educational institutions to focus on developing some strategies, techniques and methods to “build a brand”. Such a strategy can only be sustained by a good CRM. The CRM strategy for an academic institution must help the students to find a job as soon as they graduate, or even before, but without losing the focus on actual education.

Many academic institutions are interested to keep a long term relationship with the students, especially after graduation. It is important for those to know how the students were able to use the gained notions, how successful they are and if they work in the field where they graduated. Moreover, some of the students can become important members of their communities, famous people, and the University can use their image to gain recognition.

The CRM systems can ensure this, by offering customized services especially for certain clients. Whether they are private or public institutions, the majority of those have a lucrative purpose. Those organizations must focus on a CRM solution not only to offer details about the best educational method for their students, but also to maintain relationships with the working personnel, administrators, companies and providers. However, the students are the most important part of a university, and this is why any new CRM program must be implemented to help those in their daily activities.

The emerging web CRM processes and technologies will lead to the development of new types or resources and services. In some countries, the educational system has only a few things to offer to students. Those students are now used with technology, and they would like better ways to communicate with the university. Therefore, they will want to obtain details about their progress, grades and exams directly from the internet, especially because they like and use technology in their current activity. The old ways to interact with the students are obsolete, and the new students will probably choose the university that can offer them better technological support and solutions.
