Why You Should Consider Shifting to Thunderbolt Technology

A lot of people were not too happy when Apple introduced the Thunderbolt in its line of Macs in early 2011. For most people, it meant that Apple was being self-centered again in a sense that it was making its products have a proprietary set of accessories, which you cannot share with other computers. You may call this set of people close-minded, but little did they know that it would change the course of computing drastically.
What is Thunderbolt Technology

What is Thunderbolt you ask? This technology was developed through the partnership of Apple and Intel. It used to be called Light Peak system when Intel first introduced it to the public in 2010. It was initially made using optical cables, but then Intel switched and used copper wires instead. The results in their testing for copper wire-based Light Peak cables was something people in Intel did not expect. The great thing they discovered is that copper wires could also transmit power unlike regular optic cables, which only allow data transmission.

It was the MacBook Pro, introduced in early 2011 that had the first Thunderbolt cable data port. This came as a major surprise for most people as Apple introduced something new to the market. It was also during this time that the name Thunderbolt was officially launched to describe this new I/O technology. The only setback of this was that peripheral manufacturers were not ready, as it would take time for them to implement the same technology with their products. It would take some time before peripherals that support the Thunderbolt interface would become available for public consumption.
Benefits of Shifting to Thunderbolt Technology

Those were the days that the technology was undergoing birth pains. But now since Apple has declared for it to be a standard fixture in its devices, people who adore Apple products have no choice but to accept the fact that having a Thunderbolt cable at all times would be something that they have to get used to especially when they access external hard drives as extra storage space for their files.

It is good to know that you can buy these cables at most computer shops nowadays. If you have computer peripherals that are still of value to you because there are still a lot of files you access from it, you would be happy to note that there are several kinds of Thunderbolt cable types that are backward compliant. The downside of this however, is that you would not be able to maximize the capability of the Thunderbolt and instead use only what the peripheral could provide.

When buying Apple accessories, it is best to go to dealers and stores that sell high quality items. Let’s face the fact that there are a lot of fakes going around the market and using these substandard products could do more harm than good to you and your device. KanexLive.com is one company that specializes in Apple and iOS connectivity solutions such as ipad charging station stand. So if you want to make full use of your Apple gadgets even if only at home, they are the best people to consult and go to.
