Remove Duplicates Mails in Outlook

Outlook is widely used email application. Outlook stores data in PST file format which is prone to corruption. PST file may get corrupted due to large size. Duplicate messages, mails are major reasons that makes PST file oversize.


Duplicate emails, messages are created due to synchronization, marketing mails sent to you many times, improper set up of account and other reasons.


So we need to remove these duplicate mails, messages for better performance of Outlook and reduce PST file size. Here we will discuss one of the simplest method to remove duplicate data in Outlook.


Before starting the process we should check that the account rules in Outlook are properly configured

Next we have to schedule the frequency of Inbox Update. Follow the below mentioned steps to schedule frequency update

  • Click on send/receive button and then defined send/receive groups.
  • Check mark schedule automatic update and set interval time between 15 to 30 minutes

Now we will use clean up tools to remove duplicate data
  • Open Outlook
  • Select the folder from where you want to remove data
  • Open CleanUp tools utility and choose desired option among Cleanup conversations, CleanUp Folder and Clean Up Folder and Subfolders
  • Right click on Deleted items folder and select Empty folder.
