It can manage GPS data from several vehicles in real-time and merge them so that a person sitting in a police control room or in a company running taxi network can take immediate decisions based on the data analyzed by the streaming analytics. Stream analytics can continuously collect the GPS data from a vehicle and merge it with the actual location of the policemen or the customers.

It can thus track each and every move the driver makes in real time and also calculate which vehicle is closest to a particular spot based on the user preferences. The speed at which it is being done is tremendous and so tracking is instantaneous. The decisions from the user can be taken and transmitted in real-time. This is a great achievement for data management as the time lapse is zero and in real life situations such as medical emergency services or police actions, it can make a world of difference.

Streaming analytics thus involves two parts knowing what is happening and then acting upon what is happening. Since Streaming analytics provides data immediately the onus then falls on the users, the companies that handle the decision making. If the decision making is slow then, unfortunately, there is nothing stream analytics can do about it and the advantage gained through the use of stream analytics is lost. And that is perhaps the only bad thing that can happen in stream analytics.
