IBM has been seen to develop a new cost and asset management application which is being included as part of cloud brokerage services and aims to assist companies in tracking hybrid cloud assets and respective policies with various vendors.
Aim and functions
The application to be unveiled has been tasked and aimed to help in the provision of easier and better understanding of the different companies and their subsequent cloud environment. The application is expected to assist in looking through financial trends and the total cost while simultaneously improving governance.
The application is placed under IBM’s cloud brokerage services and is currently expected to be among the first of the new generation applications waited upon from IBM. Other than the listed main function, the application is also meant to provide cost and policy data that will be used for deployments as the said application provides recommendations and actions for an organization to take and follow through that are in regard to the particular organization's environment.
Richard Patterson, the IBM general manager of infrastructure services added during the release that most companies had found struggles when they were managing and trying to track the different and many cloud environments. The IBM application in such cases would be a new generation of applications that would facilitate the provision of cognitive functionality on both the extensive cloud accounts and the on-premium assets.
The application is further expected to provides the dashboards of the organization’s IT and finance teams, that are tasked with providing information on trends relating to cost, tracking of an organization’s budget, as well as both the type and location of the particular assets.

In a practical illustration, the companies would have the ability to view the apparent differences present between various assets and their costs in comparison with the suppliers and thereafter correct the occurring problems. This technology and innovation is ideal for all business but will certainly boost management in the small and medium sector for business such as restaurants, dental practices, Veterinarians, bakeries etc.

The application has been made to use predictive analysis to strengthen the insights that it happens to provide via the dashboard to give a company an overview of the steps needed to transform the hybrid cloud.

IBM also happens to provide information in a manner referred to as cognitive recommendations. These recommendations are meant to help customers in setting of policies for cloud environments that would facilitate cloud usage to further help in improving the costs incurred and ensure value for your money.

Customers are awarded the ability to simulate inventory changes as well as financial goals to review their effect on hybrid cloud strategy. As part of IBM’s best practices that have been built in, technical, and policy templates are provided as part of the application.

In most cases the hybrid cloud deployments happen to involve many vendors with the IBM tool focused on removing complexity that develops as a result of having many vendors.

In summary, the IBM application provides information on cloud consumption, tracking, compliance etc. It helps in the management of cloud goals as well as providing recommendations for the following steps and most especially policy.
