2) Extending Wireless Range Using Power Line:

  1. Plug a power line into an electrical wall socket.
  2. Connect it to the router.
  3. Then you need to plug the second power line into the wall socket in a place when you are not getting good wireless signals.
  4. Connect this second power line to a router also.
Remember one more thing. To achieve significant results from this method you need to have good quality electrical wiring in your home.
3) Switch Off Google Instant:

Google instant is an awesome feature that keeps on predicting results as you keep on typing in the Google search bar. You get the predicted results in a drop-down menu

It consumes some bandwidth so if your internet is slow then you must look forward to disabling this feature to get a better internet speed.

To disable it open the home page of Google and then go to settings. Then open the search settings. From there you can disable it.
4) Gmail HTML View:

When you are having slow internet you might have noticed most often that you’re your emails take time to load in Gmail.

To get it work fast in case of slow internet click ‘Load basic HTML’. You can find it easily on the bottom of your Gmail screen when it takes time in loading your emails. Thus you will be able to view your emails quickly.

Some features that won’t appear in HTML view are:
  • Chat
  • Keyboard shortcut
  • Spell checker
  • Importing contact

5) Avoid Visiting Too Many Websites:
If you are facing slow internet issue then you must not open 15-20 tabs in your browser at a time.
  • Try to visit the websites that are extremely important.
  • Try opening not more than 5 browsers at a time.
  • If you need to open many websites then after closing tab you may open another tab immediately but don’t open many at a time.
6) Disable LSO:

LSO refers to Large Send Offload. This feature works for the network performance of your Computer. It is found in Windows 10.

You need to disable this feature in case of slow internet speed because this feature allows background apps to consume network bandwidth. This feature reduces CPU overhead.

As this option is in device manager so you need to have administrative privileges to disable this feature.

You can disable it by opening your network card settings from the device manager. In the advanced tab, you will see ‘Large send offload’ option. Just set its value to ‘disabled’.

After disabling it, restart your PC and then check your internet speed. You will surely see an increase in speed.
7) Bandwidth Consumption by OS:

As we know that many of us love using windows OS but there is one thing about it that we are unaware of.

Windows 10 keeps 20 percent of total internet bandwidth for the OS and system services and remaining 80 percent are kept for our internet usage.
This setting can be changed easily. Follow theses step to do so:
  1. Open the run window by pressing Windows + R.
  2. Enter gpedit.sc
  3. Group policy window will open. open computer configuration from there
  4. Then from administrative templates click on network and then open QOS packet scheduler
  5. Click on the option saying ‘limit reserve bandwidth’
  6. A window will be opened in front of you. Select the enabled option and then in the reserved bandwidth change the value to 100%
  7. Apply the setting
  8. Click Ok and you are done with this process.
