How to Quickly Import Content from HTML Site to WordPress CMS? - Image 1
Are you looking forward to migrating your website content to WordPress? Well if you are then you’ve just made the right decision. As WordPress websites consist of 17% of the whole web, which indicates that there are many websites which use WordPress CMS as their medium.

Now the reason of why you should actually migrate your contents to WordPress. It is because the WordPress Content management system is a very powerful and effective CMS and contains a lot of features that can help you manage your web contents with absolute ease. Also, the WordPress professionals keep updating the CMS systems and launch updates for security and performance improvements.

Now you must be wondering whether migrating the website might cause some problems, well technically speaking, a bit but WordPress has loads of plugins to deal with these issues on the click of a button.

With WordPress CMS, one can easily migrate all of the design, the contents and SEO rankings from the old website on the go. WordPress has been there for such a long time in the designing and hosting business that by this time it is so polished that one actually faces zero to no trouble while handling things related to websites and blogs.

Now moving onto the steps of how to actually make things running and up to speed:-

At first, create a test domain to try things out before jumping to the main migration, this will help you ensure whether things work in the way you want or not. For doing this, take up a random new WordPress theme and start uploading files to the test directory and fire it up and look for errors.

Once done with the test process and you are sure that things can be achieved in the way you like, then Install WordPress either locally or on the web host directly.

Now comes the importing process, where you will actually be uploading all the contents from the old website to the new website, but make sure you know about the .htaccess file, WordPress CMS and other functionalities offered by WordPress before proceeding.

The .htaccess file actually lets you deal with the redirection error of 404, so adding a redirection keyword to the initials of your individual page address will relieve the customers of this error if they access the old website in any case.

It is better than you do not design the website from scratch as there are plenty of restrictions on how you can design your website on WordPress, even if you go for the Premium or Business theme plans, so the advice would be to go for a cool WordPress themes on the web or the standard new WordPress theme available.

For categorizing things just the way you had to your old website, you can use WordPress CMS for doing this easily.

For relocating some functions from your original website to the new one, you might have to look for some WordPress plugins from the list and see whether it fits or not, as WordPress has loads of plugins to choose from, so you won’t face any trouble regarding this.

Now comes the most important part of not losing whatever you did so far, which is pointing the old database to the new one.

Simply point the old database to the new one using the WordPress CMS by going to the WordPress dashboard, then to the database section and uploading the database files directly to the host and voila, there you go. Your website has been successfully migrated and is ready to roll.
