Siri is an intelligent assistant capable of telling you just about anything, from how to prepare a fast breakfast with your available ingredients to how to shop online for gifts. You just need to be Apple equipped; whether you have an iPhone 6s or the latest model, it doesn’t make a difference. Unfortunately, most people use Siri for its basic functionalities, while remaining blissfully unaware of the cool additional tasks the voice assistant can do, including controlling lighting in your home. On the other hand, there are those that have completely forgotten that Siri exists!
Reality is that Siri is capable of a lot. Moreover, while she may not be able to fix you a morning cup of coffee – at least not yet – she can do these five cool things for you.
Find Address of a Lost iPhone
For example, if you were to find a lost iPad or iPhone, your first instinct will be to return it to its rightful owner. While you can check the device for possible clues, what happens if it’s password locked? That’s no problem as long as you have access to Siri with the phone locked, finding the owner’s home address should take only a couple of seconds.
Hold the home button to initiate Siri, and ask, Siri, who does this iPhone belong to. Within a second, Siri will bring up the owner’s name, an alternative phone number and even an email address. Other things you can ask Siri include what is the owner’s home address as well as call history – nothing could be easier.
Pronounce Your Name Correctly
It is a fact that Siri is the one that enlightens her users on so many things happening around them. However, tables can turn, especially when she cannot get your name right. Simply, launch Siri and tell her that she keeps on getting your name wrong.
In an instant, your assistant will ask you to pronounce the name correctly. She will save the correct pronunciation and will use it the next time she says Hi. Another cool thing is that you can tell Siri to call you by your favorite childhood nickname.
As Your Poker Partner
When it comes to poker games, knowing your odds is what determines whether you’ll have a winning or losing hand. Therefore, instead of playing blind, have Siri tell you the odds on the hand you are about to play. It might be the odds on Omaha Hi/Lo, Badugi, or Texa Hold'em – it could also be the odds on a full house, 3-of-a-kind, or a royal flush.
As a Personal Calculator
Honestly, few people like the idea of math or calculating. The fact that you can locate the iPhone calculator on a locked screen is not helping either. But, what if you have to multiply, add, subtract or divide up some numbers?
Ask Siri, your personal assistant, to be your personal calculator without even typing the numbers. For example, if you are purchasing something from an online site and you want to know how much it will cost you, simply fire up Siri and say the figures. Your assistant will provide you with the answers in an instant.
As a Song Title Finder
So that tune you cannot get out of your head is playing once again in the club or on the radio, but you cannot put a finger on the title or the singer. Fortunately, Siri is also a song-finding app that is always in your phone. Siri will listen to the currently playing song; and before you know it, she will give you the names as well as the option of purchasing the song from the iTunes store.
