Almost everyone has the same habit of setting passcode on phones. However, we may forgot the password carelessly. It is an indisputable fact that the only way to unlock a disabled iPhone is to reset your iPhone.

However, most iPhone users may worry that the existing data on iPhone may get lost after phone resetting. No panic. Next are three different methods to help reset your iPhone and get your precious phone data back, which works for iPad and iPod as well.
Method 1: How to Unlock A Locked iPhone/iPad/iPod with iTunes

If you have made your iOS device trust your computer, this is the best choice to unlock it and get all your data back. Just follow the steps (set iPhone as an example):

1) Plug your locked iPhone to computer you have trusted with;

2) Open your iTunes and backup your iPhone data to it;

3) Click Restore iPhone to reset it.

4) When you reach the Set Up screen while restoring your iPhone, tap Restore from iTunes backup.
Method 2: Unlock a disabled iPhone/iPad/iPod on iCloud without Data Loss

If you want to erase your iOS device on iCloud, you must enable Find My iPhone service before and your device must have connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. This method can help you erase all your data including your passcode. You can do as the following (the same as iPad and iPod):

1) Enter iCloud.com on another iPhone or computer to sign in;

2) Click Find iPhone > All Devices on the top of your browser window and choose a device you want to erase;

3) Click Erase iPhone to remove all your data as well as iPhone password;

4) Begin to set up your iPhone and choose Restore from iCloud Backup to get your previous data.
Method 3: Unlock Passcode Locked iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch through Recovery Mode

If you did not sync your iDevice to iTunes or set Find My iPhone on iCloud before, you can use this mode to reset your iOS device and remove your setup for its passcode.

1) Connect your iOS device to computer and open iTunes;

2) Press and hold the Wake/Sleep button to restart your device until you see the recovery mode screen;

Note:
1. During this period, iTunes will download software for your iOS device, this may take a very long time. If it lasts over 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode automatically, which needs you to repeat the last two steps.

2. Remember this will also remove all your iPhone/iPad/iPod data. If you want to get back the lost data but have no backup to restore, you can try Jihosoft iPhone Data Recovery, which is a good helper to recover deleted photos, videos, audios, contacts, messages, call history, WhatsApp, Viber, calendar, reminder, voice memo, voice mails, safari bookmarks and more from iOS devices. Of course, you can Recover Data from Passcode locked iPhone/iPad directly without erasing your phone.

    Thanks for sharing! Actually, apart from iTunes and iCloud, a professional iOS passcode unlocker named Joyoshare iPasscode Unlocker can also help you to unlock a disabled iOS device without knowing passcode. This kind of tool can work such problems without any difficulty and limitations. In case iTunes and iCloud can not work well, you might as well have a try with it.
