How to Gain Authority on Twitter - Image 1
According to a recent survey conducted by Forbes, only a little over half of all companies that they talked to that were marketing on Twitter said that they were happy with the return on their investment. There are a lot of ways to get better value from your investment in Twitter marketing, and we’ll discuss a few of them today.

The first is to make sure that you have the right goals on Twitter. People often try to use Twitter in order to grow their brand awareness and reach new customers, but research shows that people are a lot more likely to follow a company that they have already bought from. As a result, the goal should be to convert your past customers into Twitter followers so that you can make them more loyal customers who are more likely to buy from you in the future.

One important thing that you should be trying to do on Twitter in order to gain more followers, as well as earn their respect, is to gain authority. It is important to keep in mind that the most valuable followers are those that will retweet your content or engage in conversations. These loyal followers are more valuable than the average follower, but you’ll have to earn their respect and make sure that they view you as an authority figure on the subjects at hand.

In addition, though, you will want to share a lot of knowledge on twitter. It is important to provide knowledge, facts and statistics to back it all up. These are the types of tweets that are most commonly retweeted and shared with others, so you will want to try to fit into that category as often as possible. In addition, try to use as much depth as you can in the content that you provide. Obviously the limitations on character length will come into play, but if you try to provide links to additional content or tweet a few things in a row, you should be able to add the appropriate depth. This will help to showcase your knowledge on a particular topic.

You also need to make sure that you are consistent. People tend to forget about those who don’t tweet often enough. You don’t have to be on the site every day, but it is a good idea to be consistent. Perhaps you are always tweeting during the morning, or on Mondays, or during big entertainment nights. Whatever the case may be, your consistency can help you to build up a following and gain more authority because then those who follow you will know what to expect and when to expect it.

It will make your content more likely to be retweeted or responded to, as people will view you as more reputable and reliable. As a result, doing more than just buying ads and tweets is a good idea when it comes to marketing your company on Twitter. By also devoting time and money into growing your following, you will be increasing the relative impact of your ads. This means that they will be more valuable to you, even if the expense is the same or less.

As you gain more authority you should start to see more people responding to your tweets and more people retweeting them or otherwise sharing them with others.
