Samsung unveiled its flagship Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress, the worlds largest Trade show in Barcelona, Spain on Monday, Feb 24, 2014.
The smartphone features a 5.1 inch AMOLED display screen (slightly larger than Galaxy S4 ) with a resolution of 1080 px. It has environment specific features like the display adjusting its levels to the surrounding conditions and extra low dimming mode for use in dark rooms.
The smartphone runs on the latest version of Andriod OS (Kit Kat 4.4.2) and is powered with a Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery that can last up to 10 hrs of surfing over an LTE or 12 hrs of Video Playback. The smartphone provides an ultra power saving mode that will run only necessary features and changes the screen to black and white mode when your mobile battery is about to drain. As per Samsung even a 10% of battery can account for 24hrs of usage.
The phone sports a rear camera of 16 megapixel with increased auto-focus speed. It has options of selective zoom for better focus on a particular area and real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) to preview how the HDR version will look next to non-HDR for the same image.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is the first among the smartphones to sport a 5th Generation Wi-Fi for faster downloads.
There is quite an improvement from security point of view with the introduction of fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner can help you unlock the screen, log into few apps and protect the files or folders from others
Galaxy S5 is faster, boards an 2.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It includes a built-in heart monitor right below the rear camera which reads your pulse from your fingertip in about 5 seconds.
Well, some disappointment for the fans is there is no Aluminum this time too! The body is made of polycarbonate and is available in 4 colors (Black, Blue, White and Gold).
So this Power Packed smartphone with lots of amazing features and health apps to make you stay fit is scheduled to launch globally on 11th April, 2014.
