Five Reasons Why Wordpress Rocks

If you’re currently in the process of considering a re-design for you companies website, as far as we’re concerned, you’ve only one option - WordPress! Now see as the world’s leading CMS, whether you’re looking to launch a simple five page brochure site or a large scale e-commerce platform, WordPress should be your system of choice and, as such, we wanted to bring you five reasons why this system rocks, something which we’ve put together in conjunction with Identify Web Design in Wakefield.

1. It’s Search Engine Friendly

Google have previously confessed that WordPress is their suggested CMS and, as such, if you want to see your site achieve strong rankings on the search engines, why would you opt for anything else? We’ve previously seen sites take huge jumps in search positions simply following a move to WordPress and, as such, that’s a good enough reason for many to ensure that their site is built in this system. There’s a whole host of brilliant SEO plugins available on top of the already friendly system making WordPress the top CMS from an SEO perspective.

2. It’s User Friendly

Ever tried using the back end of Joomla? Horrible isn’t it! Especially with the improvements in recent versions, the admin panel on WordPress is both easy to use and visually pleasing, making it great to work with. Everything makes sense and there’s no wasted time trying to work out how to change something simple. A great admin panel makes for a great CMS and, with WordPress, it certainly has that, having what many would consider as the most user friendly admin panel out there.

3. It’s Open Source

WordPress is an open-source system meaning pretty much any developer is able to support it! The worst thing about bespoke CMS systems is being tied to a particular developer, however with WordPress, you’ll never struggle to find a developer who can help you out should you need it. Of course, being open-source means there’s regular version updates as well, bringing a few times each year a whole host of new and innovative functions and features which make the life of a webmaster so much easier.

4. There’s A Plugin To Do Just About Anything

Both through free and paid plugins, there’s one to do pretty much anything you want WordPress to do. Want to launch a booking site? No problem, there’s a plugin for that! Want to turn your site into an eCommerce platform? No problem, use WooCommerce! Again, the beauty of being open source means there’s literally thousands of developers across the globe writing plugins, all of which generally become available either as a free or premium plugin.

5. There’s A Great Range Of Themes

If you’re on a budget and can’t afford to have a bespoke theme designed and developed, you’ll not struggle to find a great off-the-shelf theme to ensure your business is well represented online. Sites such as Themeforest offer a fantastic selection for as low as $40, meaning even someone with absolutely no design skills can launch a fantastic looking website in next to no time at all. Whilst this isn’t ideal for everyone, for many it’s a great way to have a premium site on a low budget.

Above all, WordPress rocks and when it comes to having a new site for your business, there really shouldn’t be any other CMS you even consider using!
