There are some of the obvious differences that we can notice when we use a Smartphone and a laptop. First is the loading time which is slower in mobile and second is graphics which may not be as sharp and therefore we have to scroll down to see more of the overall site. But all these features are only physical attributes. The main SEO aspect is Google rankings which should be considered while creating a mobile friendly website.

Previously, mobile search results on Google are the same as found on desktop. But recently, Google has announced that this was going to change. Websites that fail to cater the needs of mobile users will have their ranking decreased while; those who have implemented mobile strategies will become promoted. Therefore, it is important that your website must fulfill the basic requirements of Google to make sure that you are not missing out on potential rankings.
Important Things that You Need to Include While Designing a Mobile Friendly Website:

Page Speed: Page speed is more important for mobile users than desktop users. Beyond image optimization, you need to leverage browser caching, minify code and reduce redirects.

Website design for mobile: Mobile devices simplify and revolutionized the ways through which websites are designed. While designing a website, the designers must check the site on mobile devices to make sure whether they are designing a mobile friendly site or not.

Don’t use Flush: It is not safe to use Flash because it may not be available on user’s phone which indicates that they will miss out all the fun. If you would like to create special effects, you can use HTML on its behalf.

Design for the fat finger: Touch screen navigation keys may lead to accidental clicks if your buttons are just too big or too small or in the path of a finger that tries to get the page to scroll.

Optimizing title and Meta Description: Always remember that when a user sees your website on mobile device, they get a limited space to get an overall look of the site. Therefore, you must try to show off your best work within a limited space. Always be concise as possible while creating titles, URLs or Meta description.

Optimize the site for local search: If your business is having local element, remember to optimize the mobile content of your website for local search. This mainly includes your name, address, phone number in your website’s Meta data.

You need to go through all three options properly to make a firm decision.

All these factors should be included essentially in your website to make mobile SEO successful and thus mobile SEO will no longer be considered as separate from desktop SEO. Rather they are the two important parts of a complete SEO strategy.
