New site -˜Android Experiments' launched by Google to Showcase Creative Android apps - Image 1

The best creative apps now get Google’s attention and without much efforts.

If you thought promoting your apps will be a huge deal, you might just heave a sigh of relief after reading this. Google has undergone various changes and bustling with activities lately. For one, it has become a subsidiary of the holding venture, Alphabet. This might allow Google to focus more on its core products which include YouTube, Google Search and Android to name a few. The other thing that Google has done will help app developers promoting their apps in the Google marketplace.

What did Google Do?

Google has also come up with a new website ‘ Android Experiments’ which is a library for development projects related to source apps and showcases the most creative and coolest features they have to offer. In the year 2009, Google had launched ‘Chrome Experiments’ which was an initiative that functioned in a similar manner to the new Android-oriented website. Anyone and everyone can submit cool app projects for free here.

The Requirements

Not everybody or every app can make through it though. However, Google has set some requirements for the people who wish to submit their apps which are the following.
1. The projects submitted must be open source
2. It must explore the method through which users interact with their devices in both
‘big and small ways’
3. It must be based on Android 4.4 KitKat or above

Submit your creative Android app today

If quality is one parameter for Google to judge your app, creativity is another. Your app needs to be out of the herd. The website will only showcase the best submissions. The ones that pass will be made available via the Google Play Store. The question that concerns everyone is: Who will decide if an app is good enough to be featured on the website or not? Well, to answer this, the Android Experiments team will review the submissions one by one.

With the website being up already, Google has presented its viewers with a list of 20 initial apps. In order to get an idea as to what kind of app Google wishes to feature on Android Experiments, you can browse through the website.

The other developments

Recent news states that Google is also working on a new affiliate program for Google Play where separate libraries will be provided for Music & Movie. It is expected that the library will be similar to that of Apple’s digital content store, iTunes. The very same company, Performance Horizon Group, which backed up Apple in 2013, is now powering this initiative by Google too.
