Private Cloud Hosting Offers Better Control, Reliability and Privacy than Public Cloud Hosting

A private cloud hosting is a computing model that shares some basic characteristics of public cloud computing model like scalability and reliability, but through propriety architecture. Private cloud involves a distinct and secure based cloud based environment that is reserved exclusively to be used by a single client. Also, like public cloud model, private cloud computing offers computational resources within a virtualised environment through an underlying network of physical servers.

However, the main difference between the private and public cloud lies in the number of users using the cloud services. In a private cloud environment only
one organization has the right to use the entire resources of the cloud resulting in better reliability, security and control. Public cloud environment in contrast has multiple users accessing its services via internet, and all drawing important resources like RAM, bandwidth, CPU, storage, etc from the same pool of interconnected physical servers.

Private cloud hosting too follows the same principal i.e. resources are drawn from a distinct pool of physical servers, but the main difference is that the virtualised resources are reserved solely for a single party use. The physical servers supplying the resources may be hosted on premises or it may reside in the data centre of the third party service provider. The resources are accessed through secure leased lines or highly secured encrypted connections via public networks like Internet.

It is thereby quiet clear that private clouds are most appropriate for businesses with unpredictable and often changeable computing needs as it offers higher level of control and dedicated set of resources. Some of the other advantages of private cloud hosting are as following:

Better security and higher level of privacy

Private cloud offers a higher degree of security and privacy as compared to public clouds. The reason for it is that the resources drawn from the physical servers are made behind organization’s firewall or through highly secured dedicated leased lines and/or on-site internal hosting for maximum protection and unauthorised data access.

Better control

This concept is self explanatory as an organization had the exclusive rights to the resources of the cloud. It can manage and configure it online to meet its own unique set of need and requirements.

Improved reliability

Cloud resources in private cloud computing is hosted internally. This does not affect the overall reliability of the system as the creation of virtualised operating environments means that additional servers are always available to compensate for the malfunctioning server.

Having an internal private cloud hosting or in the data centre of a service providers, many of which offers economical cloud servers in India, offers a you with a large array of advantages. You have your own dedicated set of resources in a virtualised environment allowing you to deliver infrastructure, platforms and software applications in an easily managed, easily scaled and easily billed service architecture. The entire architecture can be managed as a holistic resource across the entire company.
