Those days when people were fond of games like, Ping Pong and Pac-Man, are gone now. This era is of modern and cutting edge games that are not only more attractive and interesting but uses latest technologies as well, to make the gaming experience as fun as possible. Today, video games are coming with ultra high quality graphics and based on interesting story lines along with tons of options to play the game. E.g. Consoles have made it possible for the machine to recognize the player`s movement and use it in the game. Modern video games have moved far away from traditional gaming styles and hence provided the player with multitude of options to play these games.

One of the most recent ground-breaking developments in the field of Gaming is the advent of Cloud Gaming. Cloud gaming has made everyone interested with the features it can offer to both the game developers and the gamers. In order to take full advantage of this new technology, you must first understand the basics of Cloud Gaming, along with its advantages and disadvantages.

Cloud Gaming makes use of Cloud hosting to run Gaming applications. You must have played multi-player games online, which uses internet connection to connect one player to another. Xbox live and PS network also allows multiple players, residing at different parts of the world to enjoy the game together. However the biggest drawback of playing video games through these methods is that each player must have a copy of Game and a console.

The cloud computing offers multiple players to play a game that is hosting on a cloud and use the hardware resources of the cloud server instead of individual systems of the players. All the games connect to one cloud and play the game together on it. A cloud gaming service and an internet connection is all that is required to play high-end games in Cloud gaming.

The games are streamed directly to your screen without using any of the processing resources on your part. Each button you press or movement you make through your joystick is sent to the cloud for rendering and processing. There are some video-on-demand services available that work on this same formula of using a cloud to distribute multimedia content, like iPlayer or 4oD.

First and the biggest advantage of playing games through Cloud Computing is that all the gamers are not required to own a separate and physical copy of the game to play it. The registered version of the game is already installed on the cloud and you can simply connect to the cloud service and start playing the game.

Also the specs of gamers PC is not required to be of high-end. Since cloud server`s resources are used to run the game, the gamers are not required to buy expensive hardware to play those modern games.

Though Cloud gaming offers a new and innovative way of gaming for gaming enthusiasts around the globe, this phenomenon hasn`t been so popular so far. We have yet to see where and how long this idea can go, but the beginning of this idea looks very promising and we can expect better things in the future.
