ResponsibilitiesPerform a wide range of system administration duties on IT database, application, and other Servers including install, debug, maintain, upgrade, and general support.Proactive monitoring of all servers, applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLA s.Perform regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries.Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans.Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes.Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance of all IT infrastructures.Manage & troubleshoot networks, Intranet & Internet connectivity throughout the organizationTroubleshoot hardware, software and network operating systemProvide orientation to new users of existing technologyProvide individual training and support on requestProvide recommendations about accessing information and supportMaintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resourcesTroubleshoot all technology issuesMaintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenanceResearch current and potential resources and services and make purchase recommendationsProvide network access to all staffInstall work stations to include all hardware and software set ups as well as network accounts and passwordsMonitor security of all technologyInstall and maintain Foolproof and passwordsInput and maintain IP addressesAdvise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security statusEnsure installation of lock out programIdentify and prepare hardware for disposal and properly strip and secure in that processRequired knowledge, skills & abilitiesStrong server management experienceExperience within an environment that has audit requirementsExperience as a working manager; comfortable in a hands on roleExperience managing a Windows XP and Windows 7 desktop environment (PC and printer support)Experience administering a VMware environmentWorking knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches and VoIP phones Preferred knowledge, skills & abilitiesInterest in or experience working for high growth software companyAbility to multi-task and manage time with little supervisionAdvanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2000/2003 & Web application Servers. Experience with Active Directory highly desirableAdvanced database administration skills including backups/restores, monitoring DB performance, running SQL scripts to monitor the system and modify tables when required. Knowledge of MySQL server administration and troubleshooting highly desirable.
