PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Network Engineer -- WAN (Wide Area Network) will support the network architectural re-design of DoD data centers and tech refresh of subsystems, from back end storage to performance optimization to security stack for both SIPR and NIPR networks. Network Engineer -- WAN responsibilities include researching, designing, prototyping, and ultimately fielding, data center solutions that meet applicable Joint Information Environment and other DISA guidance in support of American forces operating both stateside and worldwide.

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
The Network Engineer- WAN will have:
• Five to eight (5-8) years related experience designing end to end solutions, including requirements gathering, architecting, prototyping, integrating, testing and delivering of virtual and physical network infrastructure and services at the enterprise level
• Experience designing and relocating data centers, site fail over, DRP/BCP, and a full suite of Cisco products
• Knowledge of the data center Transport Boundary, specifically traffic flows through Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Firewalls, Packet Capture devices, and Packet Brokers
• Knowledge of WAN optimization, WAN acceleration, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Multi-label Protocol Layer Switching (MPLS)
TRAVEL:
• Must be available for minimal travel as required
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Any of the following certifications are a plus, but not required: CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, VCP
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Communications Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related area or occupational field
• Security+ and OS training/certification, or be able to obtain within 6 months of start date to comply with DoD 8570 requirements
