IB-IT Reference Data: L1 Support Analyst

This role sits within the IB Reference Data Application Management group which focuses on the Run-The-Bank (RTB) activities managed within an ITIL Framework.

Reporting to the L1 Team Lead for IB Reference Data, this role will be based in the Pune Office, working closely with the team which has members located in APAC, EMEA, and the US. This is a role to deliver first level support services across a suite of key applications.

Your Role

The main function of the role is to provide application support of the IB Reference Data application suite, including price applications, instrument applications, and client/counterparty applications.

Key aspects of the role include the following:
Provide front-line production support services to the business and IT stakeholders to ensure continued availability, effectiveness, and accuracy of across the IB Reference Data suite of applications

Ability to understand complex technical problems and develop automation strategies to reduce manual effort and non-value add activity.

Responsible for updating and maintaining the Automation documentations. Ensure all the automations have relevant documentation.

Escalate incidents/failures to Level 2 Support in line with the defined escalation process, and drive the closure within the SLAs.

Provide regular and high quality updates to the customer on the progress on the incidents, including SLA breaches.

Proactively identify opportunities to increase team efficiency such as reducing manual effort or decreasing the number of production incidents.

Support scheduled weekend activities (e.g. BCM testing, Data Centre Powerdown, Major Releases) of Production applications.

Maintain excellent relationships and communication with global stakeholders, other IT teams, and business areas.

Actively contribute to the Knowledge Database to ensure that it is up to date.

The candidate will be required to work early/late/night shifts, and periodically work on a weekend support rota.

Essential Skills

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Practical and proven experience in IT support and/or development

Practical experience in the investment banking industry and/or atop tier financial institution.

Knowledge of Relational Databases, in particular MSSQL and Oracle.

Knowledge of Windows & Linux Platforms

Knowledge of Autosys or equivalent scheduling tool

Desirable Skills

Experience working in an ITIL structured support environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
