Conventus Solutions have a fantastic career opportunity for a Contract Network Engineer to be responsible for the production of technical artefacts and the implementation of the core Physical and Virtual networking components; as directed by the Networks lead, reporting upwards to the Networks Lead.
Become familiar with the core infrastructure artefacts.
Proactive technical problem solver.
Produce quality documents as directed.
Ensure that all development solutions conform to security good practices.
Collaborate effectively with other members of the Network team; sharing knowledge and peer reviewing others work prior to formal review by the Networks Lead.
Rationalising network laydowns & their alignment against best practice.
Demonstrable experiencing of working within a datacentre environment.
Working as part of an Agile development team.
A proven track record for delivering several large-scale IT projects.
Detailed understanding of all aspects of QOS.
Minimum BSc (2:1 or above) in Computer Science related field. Other Engineering academic qualifications will be considered.
Certificate in either or all ; CCNP, CCNA CCIE
Hierarchical IP Subnetting;
Understanding of routing protocols, internal and external, OSPF, and BGP.
Knowledge of routers, switches and firewalls product lines and vendor licensing models.
Detailed knowledge of core network technologies and infrastructure:
Cisco IOS XE;
Leaf and Spine network architecture;
VXLAN Overlay networks;
Dual Cloud Dual Hub DMVPN Solutions;
Layer 3 Multicast / PIM;
AAA Management Platform e.g. ISE;
Experience with NATO gateways;
Experience with UK Public Sector deployed networks and services;
Experience in developing secure architecture within a multi-tenanted environment;
