Bravissimo is a dynamic, entrepreneurial company which, since its launch in 1995, has grown to a 50m turnover business, with 29 stores and a well-established e-commerce operation. We offer a range of lingerie, clothing and swimwear to fit and flatter women who wear a D-L cup (28 to 40 back sizes).
Whilst the business has grown, our purpose remains the same as it did in 1995, to inspire our customers to feel amazing about themselves. We set ourselves high standards and are constantly looking for ways to improve what we do to offer the best experience for our customers. Our people are at the heart of our business and for the last 12 years, we have been one of the Sunday Times Top 100 companies to work for. We have some ambitious plans for the future and we are looking for full stack developers to join us and help us continue to craft a customer experience that we're proud of. We are passionate about finding the right people for our team and we will therefore consider junior, mid and senior level developers for these available roles.
About the role
We are looking for full stack developers to join our agile team and help us to develop applications that support our business, from product life-cycle management, merchandising and warehouse management through to stock logistics, point of sale and e-commerce.
We are open-minded and forward-looking, evaluating the best tool or technology for the job, and sharing knowledge on new technologies, approaches or specific code we've seen. We are all enthusiastic and passionate about the field we work in.
You'll be a competent and self-motivated developer, able to prove your skills and provide examples of commercial websites or applications you've contributed to; any retail experience would be of interest.
We don't expect you to know all the technologies we use. What really matters is your ability to understand concepts quickly, work with fresh ideas in an agile environment and contribute as appropriate. We're looking for someone passionate about technology, hungry to learn with us and also keen to share your findings internally and with the wider development community.
You will have a logical mind and good attention to detail, able to craft a polished product from design concepts provided (a strong command of CSS and web standards is going to really help). As we trade around the clock you will also need to provide occasional out-of-hours support.
As a good communicator, you'll be keen to get involved in discussions and debates and express your own views. Whenever you see room for improvement you won't be afraid to speak up, and you'll readily ask questions, hit Google/StackOverflow or use our Pluralsight subscription if you're not sure about something. You will have your ear to the ground of the development community, keeping abreast of what's going on. Whilst your skills and experience are of interest to us, your mindset, understanding of our business purpose and learning agility are of equal importance.
If you feel you're the person we're looking for then please provide us with your current CV, salary expectations and a letter (including any links to GitHub/StackOverflow profiles or similar), describing why you really want to work for Bravissimo and what it is about you and your skill set that sets you apart.
