Managing a large team of 15 - 20
Provide leadership and technical direction to the engineering and R&D team Lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives and execute segment/functional technical and business plans and contributes to the product development and business strategy and priorities Direct an engineering group of close to 20 responsible for all issues across business unit product line, including the design, development and implementation of unusually complex engineering product and program Lead a broad range of hardware engineers, process engineers, program managers, and R&D scientists Anticipate future needs and initiates the development and implementation of new approaches to engineering design and development at the business unit level with complex scope of product development and customer impact. Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement Programs for the product and Provide technical leadership and guidance towards product improvement, reliability and commonality Initiate and implement process changes to improve overall efficiency and productivity Liaise with engineering, manufacturing and marketing to resolve product issues and define and drive the technology and development roadmap for all products Define performance metrics and reports on the engineering functions’ progress and manage day to day operation of engineering groups Apply broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance across Direct the resolution of complex business problems by applying advanced analytical thought and judgment Negotiate and influence the opinions of others at the senior executive level and in external organizations
Advanced Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 15 years’ of experience in the equipment industry Broad knowledge in Semiconductor manufacturing and leadership experience of close to 10 years managing engineering and R&D teams Expert and knowledge lithography, deposition hardware and process development (PVD/CVD) Experience in Lithography and/or Mask equipment will be big plus Working knowledge of deposition systems (hardware and process) Strong ability to work with regional and headquarter team for results Knowledge of semiconductor processes, defects and yield and Knowledge of process steps required to build different layers and structures Experience with leading OEM company and/or leading chip manufacturing company will be highly desirable Strategic long term thinking developed through continued expansion of engineering capability and growth in the business as a whole by aligning with the company strategy Excellent working knowledge of product development processes and tools – design reviews, PLC, NPI processes, Engineering Change Management, Documentation etc.
