Its an exciting time in Our clients Development & Growth department. They are developing our Strategy & Policy unit, to lead strategy, policy, research, business intelligence and transformation.

They are now seeking a Group Portfolio Manager to join their team. This role can be based from either or London or Horsham offices.

What will you be doing

The Group Portfolio Manager will lead a newly established Portfolio Management Office for SHG, to oversee their transformation programme and enable effective governance and reporting across all business change activity within Our client.

You will design, establish and embed a flexible, scalable, robust project management governance framework and Portfolio Management Office (PMO) for monitoring and coordinating of all Group transformation, change and improvement projects. Youll own the production, maintenance and monitoring of Group-wide transformation plans on behalf of the Executive Management Team (EMT).

The Group Portfolio Manager will ensure investment in projects across the Group aligns to corporate priorities. You will successfully lead, inspire and motivate team members to deliver effective project governance and excellent service. Youll review the performance and effectiveness of project controls and deliver improvements where necessary, working with all stakeholders and colleagues to ensure the benefits of the PMO are realised.

Additionally, the Group Portfolio Manager will develop and embed standardised documentation for project governance and control.

What do you need

Qualified in one or more project management disciplines such as APM, PRINCE 2, or otherExperience of leading a Portfolio / Project Management Office in a complex organisation.Knowledge of professional project management and continuous improvement methods, and skilled in applying a range of approaches successfully, including waterfall and agile.Experience of successfully delivering transformation programmes or complex major projectsExperienced in estimating and demonstrating the costs, resources and benefits of project deliveryExperience using research, innovation and technology to enhance portfolio oversight and drive synergyDemonstrable track record of embedding project management methods in organisations.Commercial awareness or experiencePublic sector or housing experienceDemonstrable ability to inspire and motivate team members and colleagues to adopt new ways of workingExperience working effectively and credibly with senior stakeholders.Demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
