Responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company and helping to grow QBE through the use of technological resources. Ensure attainment of the company's strategic goals as established by the company's strategic plan for information technology. Position Summary The AVP of Technology Transformation is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company reporting to the Head of Strategy and Transformation. The AVP works with Executive Management to help grow the company through the use of technological resources. Using an active and practical approach, the AVP will direct and review the IT employees and consultants work to attain the company s strategic goals established in the company s strategic plan for IT ResponsibilitiesDuties Assist the Head of IT Strategy and Transformation establish the company s technology vision and leads all aspects of the company s technological development. Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads in IT, such as Standard Lines, Specialty Lines, Shared Services and others as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for review of the technical analysis, estimates, and technical design of solutions from our System Integrators and Partners and provide direction to the onshore and offshore teams Lead the execution of proof of concepts when appropriate Perform review of system analysis and designing of new integrations using both onshore and offshore resources Review of Project documentation including Architecture Documents, High Level Design (HLD) and Detailed Design Documents and then recommend and direct changes to the onshore and offshore team to incorporate the recommendation Review the Design and governance of the reusable service repository, design patterns and reusable technical components (eg Web Services, Rest and SOA components, ESB orchestrations, data transformations, error handling, auditing, logging etc.) and then drive and direct changes to the onshore and offshore team Collaborate with the infrastructureoperations team, DBAs, technical leads, developers and business analysts for design activities for Program Partner with vendor leadership, Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure API services are delivered in a timely manner Qualifications 7-10 years of hands on experience managing Application and Data Integration Programs At least 10 years of experience in managing vendors and working with teams in offshore locations and a clear cut understanding of a Distributed Delivery Methodlogy 7-10 years of experience in the large consulting companies implementing large programs involving Integration and Transformation programs especially with Real Time, Near Real time and Batch Interfaces 7-10 years of experience in Service Oriented Architecture programs 7+ years of hands on development experience on large scale insurance systems PC Insurance domain knowledge Experience with modern PC Policy Administration System (PAS),Claims and Billing Systems Thorough experience and understanding of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based architecture approaches, design methodologies and design patterns Very strong analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and create a clear solution Very strong knowledge of Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) Strong experience and understanding of the software development lifecycle design (SDLC) and implementation Excellent writing skills, to communicate information effectively to managers, and technical staff Strong interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as business owners, project management, and delivery) Strong interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential business problem and solution Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner High Energy, Sense of Urgency, Communication, Customer Focus, Innovation, Curiosity, Positive Attitude, Problem Solving, Detail Orientation, Motivated by Challenge, Accountability, Driving Results, Passion to Win, Teamwork, Honesty Integrity Strong Agile life cycle knowledge Educational Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field.
